Operational Benefits
Parking and EV Charging: The facility includes 59 car parking spaces, with electric vehicle (EV) charging stations for 12 vehicles, supporting Hemisphere’s commitment to sustainability and reducing their carbon footprint.
Office Space: The building is equipped with modern triple-story offices spanning 6,600Sq ft, designed to house management and operational teams in a comfortable, efficient workspace.
Sustainability and Amenities
Expanded Pallet Capacity: The warehouse provides 35,536 racked pallet locations, stacked nine levels high, optimising the use of vertical space for maximum storage efficiency. This solution was designed to meet Hemisphere’s demand for expanded warehousing capacity and improved fulfilment services. In addition, the facility accommodates 8,000 bulk-loaded pallets stored on floors and mezzanines, which are ideal for value-added services (VAS) such as kitting, barcoding, and quality control operations.
Advanced Dock and Lift Infrastructure: The warehouse features eight dock levellers, including three designed specifically for double-deck trailers, ensuring seamless loading and unloading operations for various types of cargo. Two 7.5- tonne hydraulic lifts are included to provide convenient access to the mezzanines for both cargo and personnel, enabling efficient use of the multi-level space.
Key Features of the Development
In May 2024, Hemisphere Freight Services, a global logistics provider, took occupancy of a newly constructed 243,761 sq ft warehouse at Port One. This custom-built bonded facility more than doubled Hemisphere’s UK warehousing capacity, strengthening its ability to deliver comprehensive logistics solutions across six continents. Developed as a build-to-suit project, the facility was tailored to meet Hemisphere’s specific operational requirements—including racked and bulk pallet storage, as well as advanced fulfilment services.
